During its April 19, 2016 meeting the Forney City Council recognized West Point - bound Cadet Kaden Kinnart, presented financial staff with a GFOAT award; approved changes allowing Enterprise Rental to be next to McDonalds; granted 8 month extension for planning on the recently sold property at FM548 & Hwy 80 which will contain two national chain restaurants.
Forney City Council approves adding "in God we trust" to vehicles, annexing NextEra power company, negotiating with Markout WSC, but denied downtown craft beer and wine store.
On March 29, 2016 Markout WSC held an informative meeting to explain their decision to allow members to vote on merging with Talty WSC. It was very well attended, and quite lively. On April 12, Markout members voted down the merger.
