Forney Park Board juggles youth sports field allocations

During its July 20, 2016 meeting, the Forney Park Board met and (this is a preliminary report, subject to revision):

• After a lengthy request from Jason Shepherd, FYFL, to add practice facilities for FYFL for Fall 2016, the board moved to allow them the use of:
  
  
  
  • Henderson Elementary Soccer Complex - on Wednesday
    
  • Forney Community Park, Field 13 Soccer Field - unchanged
    
  • Forney Community Park, MP2 Soccer Field - Monday, Tuesday & Thursday

• Mr. Curry said the Mulberry parking lot (198 spots, asphalt, $500,000) will go before the city council soon; he has requested Pokemon Go site to remove the pump station 2, as it fenced and is governed by Homeland Security; last Music in the Park will be Back in Black, the AD/DC cover band tomorrow, the last Movies in the Park Inside Out on 29th, community band final concert 30th, FHS marchathon ends at Spellman Amphitheater on Aug. 13, Lions 5k on Sep. 10.
