For the 5th year in a row, Forney ISD has adopted a lower tax rate. The 2023-2024 tax rate adopted by the board is 6.5 cents lower than the previous year, and has lowered a total of 25 cents over the last 5 years.
At the end of the May 16 meeting, Trustee Barbara Jo Green announced her desire to resign, citing health and family reasons. The board accepted her resignation.
She then suggested Mr. Idemudia as a replacement - the board reviewed his resume, then approved appointing Dr. Michael Idemudia for the remainder of her term.
