Council vacancy filled by Ray Stephens

During a July 10 special meeting lasting about 6 hours, the city council interviewed 9 applicants, then selected Ray Stephens to fill the vacancy due to Brian Haughey's resignation. (He is moving outside the city limits for the benefit of his family, therefore he can no longer sit on the council.)
Mr. Stephens will sit on the council until next May, when council elections again occur. He will have to resign his position on the Forney EDC.
