July 1 City Council approves early payment, watering violation enforcement, Trinity Street design
- Approved the redemption of certain outstanding "City of Forney, Texas, Pass-Through Toll Revenue and Limited Tax Bonds, Series 2008" including the adoption of a Resolution relating thereto.
This is an early payment on a portion of the bonds due to receiving $1,676,364 more than the minimum annual payment from TxDOT.
- Approved of a Resolution amending the Stage 3 Drought Contingency Plan, Adopted August 2011, to allow for enforcement of the amended watering restrictions.
This action enables enforcement of the current watering restrictions (outside watering once every 2 weeks).
- Approved a contract with Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, Inc., for the Trinity Street construction design, in an amount not to exceed $118,000, and authorized the City Manager to sign the contract.
The contractor is aware of the historical significance of the street.
- During Public Comments, heard from Les Reynolds, who offered suggestions to improve the attendance for the 140th event, stating there were more people at the soccer games.
- Held a lengthy review of the preliminary Strategic Plan presented by the Azimuth group, based on meetings with city staff.
